A Day in Wine Country

The cohort spent its first day in Georgia in the eastern region of Khakheti, known for its vineyards and wineries. A tour of one of Georgia’s oldest church sites was followed by a stroll through Signagi, the “city of love,” and the day wrapped up with lessons in how to make some of the country’s signature dishes, including khinkali, the ubiquitous meat-filled dumplings, and a tasting of the locally-produced wines.
